JEDDAH — Jeddah-Bazme- Ittehad, a famous literary, social and charitable organization, launched its Madinah chapter last week. A ceremony was held in Madinah and then the chapter was launched officially by global president of Bazm-e-Ittehad Ahmeduddin Owaisi.
He announced the new management committee members and their positions inthe chapter. The office bearers of the chapter are Syed Azmat Ali – Patron, Syed Nazir Ahmed – Vice President, Mohd. Dastagir Khan – General Secretary, Ghulam Ather Awais – Joint Secretary, Imtiaz Hussain – Treasurer, Syed Shah Ali Quadri Abrar – Media Secretary, Syed Haider Waliullah Quadri – IT Co-coordinator, Nawaz Khan – Executive member, Mohd. Aqeel Kamal – Executive member, Syed Irfan Ahmed – Executive member.
For the first time, a mushaira was conducted soon after the launch of the chapter. Indian poets who presented their poetry in different genre included Dr. Eijaz Kamal Madrasi, Khalid Hashmi, Raees Qasmi, Dr. Khaled Abbas Asad, Zahid Amin, Hashim Ferozabadi, Typical Jagtiyali, Jamil Abbasi and Siwani.
BIJ is a non-political and non-profitable association established in 1989 in Jeddah. It has achieved many goals like extending financial support to needy, poor girls marriage and financial support for education along with many literary event like mushaira also organized yearly by them.
